It's that time of the year again! The exciting event that I always look forward to every Monsoon season in Malaysia.
Yeap, it's the Balok Wind Challenge! The event is usually held in Pantai Balok, Kuantan and it's a 3-Days race filled with a lot of adrenaline rush. Participation is not only for locals but for international participants too. This is my second year competing for the Stand Up Paddle category race. It's a great event to meet new people and make new friends in the extreme sports genre.
The first day of Stand Up Paddle race was a little harsh to paddle in extreme wind and strong current condition which made it difficult for most participants to maintain a straight formation towards the checkpoints since the current kept pushing you to the right, although sometimes, the big breakers can be very exciting too as they add up more rush. The water condition during finals was a lot more manageable and fun to handle. It was a great weekend nonetheless.
Other categories in the event include Windsurfing, Kitesurfing and Kite Buggy. Unfortunately I was too occupied with my own race category I didn't manage to cover other categories much,
