BANGSAR . 2020

Originally known as Dr.Inc KL, Lisette's Cafe undergone an outlet expansion taking the over the building unit next door. The idea behind the extension work is to maintain the original building architecture as much as possible and mirror the existing design element, such as the white brick columns in the courtyard area, the strip opening on the walls and naco windows which is also a prominent feature of the building which was commonly used in the old shophouses.

In order to create a glasshouse/greenhouse dining experience, the glass canopy is installed above the courtyard, whilst the interior space is furnished with dining furniture and benches that was inspired by canteen benches that was commonly used in schools in the old days. The use of kopitiam and bistro chairs, together with other furniture are mixed and matched with colours to pop up within the white interior space.

As part of a collaboration work with Nala Design, their fabrics are used for table cloths and cushion covers along with textile patterns as part of wall decorative around the outlet.

I was involved in leading the project and design, together with procuring the furniture and fixtures. Being a heritage building, we try to retain most of the walls possible.
